Happy 4th of July!!

I got to spend my first Independence Day with my Mommy's whole family! Grandma & Grandpa O drove in from Iowa for a long weekend and Aunt Beth was visiting too! We spent the (very hot) afternoon at Fort Snelling being very patriotic in honor of my Uncle Brian (who just got back to the USA after serving in Iraq for 2 years!! Hooray!!)

I loved holding on to this flag all day. But Mommy kept checking on me to make sure I didn't poke an eye out!

Aren't I cute...I'm the old man with the beer belly on the left. I guess all those Budweisers are catching up to me already...

My Daddy took this picture right before the cannons went off. It was a really fun day! Hooray for the USA!

Peas are Gross!!!

This video is from a few months ago...but since I just figured out how to put video on the blog (thanks Shawn!) I thought I would add it. This is Grandma Judy's favorite...

A is for Andrew...and Arboretum

A couple of weeks ago (on June 27th) my Mommy and my Aunt Beth (who is visiting for a few weeks) took me to the MN Landscape Arboretum. It was such a beautiful day!
When we first got there, we had a picnic under the shade of a beautiful crab apple tree. Mommy even shared her water with me...wasn't that nice?

Then we walked around looking at the beautiful flowers, trees and art sculptures. Can you believe they put this A block out just for me to take a picture on??

My Daddy's friend Jesse designed this sculpture, so we were sure to take a picture of it. Isn't it neat? Good job Jesse!
I love the Arboretum...maybe I'll grow up to be a Landscape Architect just like my Daddy someday!!

Pool Rat!

So my Mommy is a little bit behind on my blog...but she's trying her best to get caught up.
These pictures are from about a month ago when we went to the University Club swimming pool for the first time (on June 16th).

What a fun time the pool is!! I had a lot of fun swimming with Mom & Dad - I even have my own float. My favorite thing to do is kick my feet under water. I can't wait for more sunny days at the pool later this summer!

Andrew is Mobile...Look out World

Andrew started crawling forward on Monday! We kept trying to entice him to move by putting fun toys just out of his reach. But, silly us, it was a bottle of beer that motivated him in the end! - Sue

Evens Family Fun in Walker

Two weekends ago, we got to spend 3 great days with my Daddy's family (June 8-10th) at my Great Aunt Arlyss's cabin in Walker, MN. What a fun place to visit in the summertime!

Here is a picture of me with Aunt Sara - we had so much fun playing together that weekend.

Then Grandma & Grandpa settled in for a little play time with me in the grass. Grandpa was so good at stacking up those cups for me to knock over time after time!

Daddy took me for my first dip ever in a Lake. I kept curling my toes to try and keep them out of the water because it was freezing cold!! Brrrr!

I also got in a lot of quality time with my favorite cousin Julia. She is older than me so she shows me lots of fun things and she let me share a ride with her in her stroller. Aren't we cute??

Sweet Home Chicago!

I had a lot of fun adventures this past weekend that I wanted to share with you. My mommy and I flew to Chicago for a long weekend of sightseeing and visiting friends and family. (Daddy was out of town in Canada and we decided that we should have some fun too!)

The excitement began when I took my very first airplane ride on Thursday morning. Mommy was nervous, but everything went very well! I really like new people and new places, so I was mesmerized by all of the activity. I didn't cry once when I was on the plane! I bet all those passengers who gave us dirty looks when we got on the plane feel bad now!! :-)

Then, I got to do a lot of fun visiting with my best friend Caden (his Mommy & my Mommy are good friends). The best part of hanging out with Caden was when we went to Brookfield Zoo on Friday. It was hotter than heck that day - but we made the most of it! I think it was harder on the Mommies than it was on us because they sure brought along a lot of gear for two little kids!

Here is a picture of me after I woke up from my zoo nap.

And this is Caden and me playing in the awesome baby play area. It was nice to cool off in the air conditioning for awhile and play trucks with my best bud. I can't wait to go to the zoo again - what fun!

On Saturday, Mommy took me to the Downers Grove Swim & Racquet Club where she used to be a Lifeguard when she was in high school. They put in a new baby pool this year that was just my size! My first swimming experience was great - I loved splashing the water with my fingers & toes. Aren't I cute?!?!

Other highlights of my trip included visiting my Aunt Beth at her school, visiting Diana Kass at Mommy's old high school, visiting with Mommy's cousin Kim, seeing Grandma & Grandpa O and having a BBQ with my Great Aunt Linda, Uncle Mike, and cousin Brian.
